Star Slinger (Born Darren Williams) is a producer and DJ based in Manchester, UK. Taking influences from hip hop to shoegaze, Star Slinger first came to the attention after self-releasing a beat tape in the summer of 2010 entitled "Volume 1". Williams picked up noteworthy press interest from Pitchfork Media, SPIN Magazine, Dazed & Confused Magazine, was named in the NME's Top 50 Bands of 2011 and was interviewed by Rob Da Bank & Annie Mac on BBC Radio 1. He also received plays from Diplo on a mix for Australia's Triple J Radio Station. In October 2011, Star Slinger released his first real single on Mountain Dew's label "Green Label Sound" with Kansas based R & B singer Reggie B along with a remix by Diplo for free on their website. Influential BBC Radio 1 DJ Annie Mac named it "Single of The Week". Despite speculation, not much info has been confirmed regarding the forthcoming Star Slinger album.
